Cafe Church
Andy will be preaching at 6:30pm Cafe Church on the next two Sundays on ‘Grace to pray for others’ as Cafe Church continues its Grace series. This Sunday evening Andy will be looking at our significance and identity. If you haven’t yet tried our new format 6:30pm service th
en why not come and find out what Cafe Church is all about.
If you have any weekend papers that you have read by Sunday, please could you give them to a member of the welcome team when you arrive for use in Cafe Church this week.
Andy - Extended Study Leave
The Bishop and our Church Wardens have agreed an Extended Study Leave for Andy next year, commencing on 1st April till 30th June.  Please pray for Andy and the family that this is a fruitful and restorative time for them.

500 Smiles - Christmas Shoebox Project
Don't forget to return boxes to church by Sunday 18th November. Please leave your boxes in the lobby area on the table provided.

An Evening with Attila

You are warmly invited to "An Evening with Attila", the pastor of the church in Romania where we went earlier this year, where the shoeboxes are going and to where we are sending 3 teams on mission in 2019. He is only with us for a short time but we couldn't let the opportunity pass without giving you the chance to meet him, so come along for what will be a heart-warming and inspiring evening.
Dementia Friends training
You are invited to attend a session led by Dementia Friends.  This will be at St. John's Church on Monday 19th November at 2pm-3pm in the Family room.
This is a helpful and supportive meeting for anybody who may know someone who is living with Dementia. So if you, a friend or relative would like to join this session then it should be very useful and practical.

Cluster Events & Activities
If you have an upcoming Cluster event, please do contact the church office and we can promote it here for you.  If you would like to know more about Clusters and Discipleship groups, please do speak to one of the team on Sunday.
Young Families Cluster Lunch
After the 10.30 service this week (Sunday 18th Nov) the Young Families Cluster are hosting a sharing lunch, if you have young children and would like to join us, please do come along.

Crafting for Romania
21st November at 2pm in church.  The first meeting was very enjoyable and we are already able to send some made items with the shoes boxes. Please come for tea, cake and chat to see what we are doing. Contact Eileen Read for more information 01206 851361.

Sharing Lunch Together

We will be meeting together again on Sunday 25th November at 12:45pm in the Craft Centre Restaurant at Ardleigh.  If you will be eating on your own and would like to join us then please see Brenda Andrews or Mary Anthony at Church.  Alternatively you can email

Christmas Present Collections
As previous years, the Connect Cluster and Parenting Teens Cluster will be organising present collections for Open Door Clients and parents of children who find themselves in hospital over Christmas.  We will be producing some idea lists, look out for these in next weeks newsletter.
Christmas Wreath Workshop
Saturday 1st December at 10.30am in the church. 
Cost is £15 which includes oasis ring, 3 decorations, hanger up-per, a ribbon and mince pies, shortbread, teas and coffee.

Please bring with you:-
Sturdy pair of scissors and secateurs
Special decorations, artificial flowers or ribbons.
Plenty of foliage e.g. Leylandii, pine, holly or fir

Watoto Children’s Choir

The internationally renowned Ugandan choir, having recently released their new album, will be performing their FREE live concert here at St. John’s Church on Saturday 19th January at 3.00pm & 7.00pm. 


A four-week course at St. John’s Church starting Tuesday 22nd January at 7:30pm. This course is designed to help you make life-long positive changes.  Each week, we explore what the experts have to say, talk to one another about what we think and engage in a variety of practical exercises to help us accomplish our goals.  The four sessions will explore, looking after your body, strengthening your mind, inspiring your soul and deepening your relationships.
