It would be great to have your child/children with us!
STOMP is the name we have given to the children's work that takes place at St John's.
WHERE DO WE MEET? In the local school, a few minutes' walk from St John's.
WHEN DO WE MEET? Most Sundays we join the main congregation for the first part of the service, and leave after some worship. Sessions finish at 12.00. Occasionally the children stay for the whole church service as it's aimed at all ages. If you're not sure where to go then just come along to the church for 10.15 and the welcome team will point you in the right direction.
OUR GROUPS: Our children are taught in age related colour groups. We have a yellow group for our 3 years to reception age children, a green group for our year 1's and 2's, a blue group for years 3 and 4 and we have a red group for years 5 and 6.
OUR LEADERS: We have an enthusiastic bunch of leaders of all ages. Our leaders are there each week for the sole purpose of building positive relationships with your children, whilst sharing their own personal faith through the varied teaching that goes on. All our leaders are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked and wear red shirts with our logo and their name on it for you to spot us easily!
OUR SESSIONS: We aim to make our sessions as active and as practical as we can, providing a variety of ways to communicate God's love. We want to move the children on in their own relationship with God through bible teaching, discussion, craft, games, prayer and worship.
KIDS CHURCH: Once a half term the red, blue and green groups come together to worship God. We have lively worship, messy and noisy games, multimedia and interactive teaching, small group discussion and prayer times, all with a healthy dose of competition and a few prizes.
HOW DO I JOIN? On a Sunday come to the back of the church when the children leave the service and speak to one of the leaders wearing a red t-shirt. We need you to complete a STOMP registration form which gives consent for your child to be with us. All STOMP leaders are CRB checked we follow statutory child protection regulations. If you've got concerns about any special needs your child may have then do come and speak to us.
